Yesterday the voters of ISD #108, Central Public Schools, approved the issuance of $10.2 million worth of bonds to complete projects on both buildings the district is currently occupying. As the superintendent of this district, I am very grateful to lead a district in which the public is so supportive of the educational programs and facilities needs that house these programs. This statement is a reflection on the values of the communities being served by Central Public Schools and speaks strongly for the future of the students.
I wish to thank the Board of Education of our district for the many hours of work they have undertaken in order to make this process sucessful. Also all the members of the Facilities Focus Group that has been meeting periodically for the past 2 1/2 years deserve a recognition. The citizen's committee that gave of their time unselflessly to encourage people to vote in the election and be informed about the program was a real asset for the district during this process. John Hendel and Pam Larson were the co-chairs of this effort.
We look forward to the improvements these projects will bring for our students and their learning environments. Thanks to all the voters who exercised their right to have their voices heard on December 1st.
