With the passing of the 4th of July weekend, it almost seems like school will be ready to start in just a couple of days. Not the case, but summer goes downhill fast from here on out.
We received some great news last week. The preliminary AYP results from the state department of education were released for schools regarding their performance on the MCA II assessments given by the state as part of the No Child Left Behind legislation currently in the process of being rewritten for the nation.
Central Public Schools is very proud to announce that our students performed very well and all three schools, elementary, middle and high school, made adequate yearly progress and thus we are removed from the list of schools under scrutiny from the state. This is a true accomplishment and our students, staff and parents deserve a giant ovation as there will be very few schools in the state that meet this level of accomplishment.
On another note, progress at the elementary is visible on a daily basis and a number of windows have been cut into the building. Remarkable what that building will look like when the product is finished. Thanks for the continued support.
